Old Order Amish families attempt to remain separate even as the modern world encroaches in around them. Photographer Gail Nogle and I have had the privilege of being invited into their community and have worked in collaboration to capture their daily life with our cameras. Throughout this long-term project, we have witnessed significant changes as it becomes increasingly difficult to sustain a living from small-scale farming.  Out of respect to a culture that remains apprehensive about photography, we have chosen to exhibit this work as a multi-media, presentation called The Amish Project.  This presentation provides a more intimate look at the community and the results of compiling a long-term body of work.
